I bought the black version of this case for a Telecaster. I have also owned the tweed version. The guitar fits the case just fine, but at the time of my purchase, (July 2010)there is a difference in the black and tweed cases apart from the cosmetics. The two cases are not identical in style, dimensions or shape. The black case is not built as solidly as the tweed version. Apply some pressure to the top of the black case and there is quite a bit of give. Not so much give when pressure is applied to the top of the tweed case. The outside corners of the tweed case are reinforced. Not so on the black. All in all, I think the tweed version is of better quality and worth the extra dollars. If I have need of another Tele/Strat type case in the future, I'll go with the tweed Musicians Gear case.
