Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism The Micron may be good for anyone who is looking to add a synth to their arsenal on a budget. However, it just doesn't hold a candle to true analog synths. I give Alesis props for bundling a considerable amount of features into a small package, but as they say, quantity is not always quality. Around 85% of the presets are pretty much useless, although some can be made to sound better with a little tweaking. The oscillators would probably sound fine to the casual listener, but to someone who's owned numerous vintage analog synths, they sound wimpy and digital. Oh, and the editing is headache-inducing. Not even kidding - every time I spend 15 minutes or so editing on this synth, I get a massive headache from the tedium of flipping through menus, and eyestrain from the tiny little display screen. Overall, I'd say it sounds better than the Microkorg, but if you're a serious synth player, go get a vintage Moog, Korg, or ARP.
