I bought several DVDs and books on blues guitar technique. The House of Blues course is the worst. John McCarthy is a rock guitar player who attempts to play the blues, but the rock foundation of his style is painfully apparent through the entire course. If you are a beginner who wants to learn a few basic cords and how to play scales, this course may be of some value to you. If you want to play blues guitar, get Hal Leonard's SRV Signature licks with Greg Koch. It's vastly better than House of Blues.
