Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism I purchased this unit on-line, so there is always a risk. I'm a guitar player and writer - but technically I'm a dullard. My prior unit was a Fostex X-15 (cassette 4 track). The manual says that if you've recorded on a simple unit (like the one I used to own) than the Boss BR-900 should be a breeze. Well, it's certainly no breeze for me! First, it just clicks and clicks and clicks. The only way to stop this clicking sound is to open up the CD burn. To make a long story short, all I've used this thing for is for live guitar effects (I could use a Vox amp for this). Maybe it's me but I can't record a thing on this unit and will use a old Yamaha cassette 4 track to record unless something changes. Again, I'm hoping to use this thing for effects and drums to ultimately find them recorded on a cassette 4 track. Then, hopefully, I'll figure out how to get the cassette master onto CD. I'll never purchase a used unit again. I think I'm ultimately going to go with a tascam 4 track and just toss this unit in for effects.
